Yeah yeah...I'm slow hahaha

I've been so crazy busy this year. But I'm still truckin!!! It is now July and hard to believe my little prince has just turned 6 years old. He had a party this past weekend at McDonald's and had a great time. He got some wonderful gifts, including his "Oobi eyes" which he loves. We are still fighting the shitty system here in NC about getting him help. It's ridiculous. It's been a year and a half since his initial diagnosis and we seem to keep hitting roadblocks. NuDay wasn't worth the calls I put in to them. They finally came back out, claiming she had went on vacation. Got his plan made up, I signed it, and haven't heard another damn word. So we are just forgetting about them. All this hype about them helping us get the help he deserves and how they can lead us to places and get us in quicker than we could on our own. I'm kicking my OWN ass because I didn't go with TEACCH in the first place, due to their long waiting list (usually 6-9 months). By now we could have been in there and started treatments and therapies. So I gave them a call today and left a message. We've been fighting the stupid ass school system, trying to get his IEP renewed, which ran out in May. I started calling them in April. Here it's July and it's still not renewed and can't get renewed til school starts back. So now they have to go off his old IEP, which really needs a lot of updating. We're trying our damnedest to move back to Mount Airy, where we belong...back to my roots and to the school system I trust to take care of my special needs child. So far no luck but I'm not giving up hope just yet.

Can you believe Destinee will be a YEAR old in two months? Well not even that now...less than 2 months. I can't believe I will have another toddler. She will have an evaluation done soon as well. They are coming to do the paperwork tomorrow. I voiced a few concerns to her doc and she was great about it. They want to watch her just in case, but can't make any official diagnosis yet. She's on the small side, weighing only 17 pounds at her 9 month checkup (and she was only a few days short of being 10 months). Her height is great though. She does have a somewhat small appetite. She's getting better at eating solids, such as Cheerios and mac/cheese, but won't eat but a few bites, then starts throwing it in the floor. So they want to see if they can help her with her feeding habits, as Christian has that problem now...still weighing only 35 pounds at 6 years old. She also doesn't babble much like other kids her age. She will go into "da-das" when she's angry, but its not often. By now she should do a lot more babbling than she is, as well as things like waving bye bye or pretending to talk on the phone or rock a baby doll. She is crawling well though and has great motor skills, even fine. She's trying to learn how to walk and cruises along the couch, table, or bed. She's still doing her arm flapping from time to time, so it's another thing we're watching, as well as her temper. She knows how to scream!

Monica is well...Monica. She'll be in 5th grade this coming year. Before long she will be in middle school, and I will officially feel seriously old hahaha! She feels like a teen to me already. Mouthy. Attitude. LAZY! And of course...spoiled...especially by her daddy and grandma. She told her daddy she wanted Guitar Hero for the XBox 360 and well...guess what we got this weekend? The World Tour thing with the drums, guitar, and mic. So yeah I've been hearing a bunch of banging and old music that has tripped me back in time coming from their humble abode. But today of all days, she has tested my nerves, so I'm ready for the weekend to get here. Her and her daddy are spending the weekend with his parents, as he's going to remodel their bathroom. Their tub overflowed and everything needs fixing, so they are totally redoing it. I decided to stay at home with the youngest two, as I don't think Christian would take the demo part very well. He freaked out when we cleared out our cabinets for a couple hours.

Ok I know it's been a while...

But I've been crazy busy. First off I want to update you on our little princess's arrival. She was born September 9th at 12:21 pm after only 3 1/2 hours of labor in just one quick push. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and 20 inches long. She's a true blessing.

She's been such a wonderful baby! She sleeps soundly (with Mommy and Daddy of course) and is trying to learn how to sit up and crawl. She loves to turn herself in circles when laying down, especially if something's out of reach. Her brother and sister adore her.

I've been so irritated lately, trying to get services for Christian. First his pediatrician refers him to this one place. We wait for them to call. A week or so goes by with no word so I call...leave a message. Two more weeks go by...STILL no calls. So I call AGAIN. Leave another message. Finally a week after that I get in touch with someone. Then they proceed to tell me that they don't take kids into their therapeutic day program if they've already been diagnosed? (WTF?) Then says he may have been referred to one of the doctors there. SO...instead of checking for me....I'm supposed to call his pediatrician back. So I do. Only to find out she's had her baby and is on maternity leave. So now I'm screwed...and quite pissed off. Here we are again, stuck with NO help. He still hasn't started speech therapy, and really needs occupational therapy to help his diet, his hygiene, & possibly his behavior. SO I go to this other place that the lady at the other place suggested. I call and set up an appointment to get him a case manager. I get an appointment with their intake guy the next day so I'm all "yeah maybe we're going to get somewhere!" Go in and see him, then a few days later come back in for an evaulation by one of their guys. Ok so then...he gets a case manager...very sweet lady...comes to our house and asks me all these questions, talks about plans and what I want to accomplish (all while Christian dozes on the couch and will NOT wake up). So she tells me she has to make up a permanent plan within 30 days. So she leaves and I'm thinking "alright finally we're getting somewhere to get him the help he needs and deserves." Yeah...nothing yet. I found out a week ago that the intake guy there called here and left a message when we weren't home about Christian was referred there and he didn't see an assessment done on him and if we still wanted services to call blah blah blah and I am PISSED! I'm like....DUDE! I already talked to you! He just HAD an assessment done by one of THEIR psychologists!!! WTF did you do with the records??? Ok so once AGAIN I call over there and leave him a message. No call returned. I called again today and left ANOTHER message. I am pisssed. Where do they find these idiots??? Can they NOT pick up a damn phone and give you a quick call back? Even if it's just to say I got your message but I'm really busy so I will give you a call in such and such amount of time? I mean seriously. This is my son's future in their hands and they are really letting me down. I just don't understand how they lost track of what THEY were doing to begin with. The farthest I have gotten so far is the damn school system. Can you believe that crap? But yeah that's what's going on with him. Poor guy just got over an abscessed tooth. It was awful. The whole side of his face swoll up on the right, after the hospital tried to tell us it wasn't abscessed. I've had them before...I know what to look for, and had no doubt in my mind thats what it was. So I ended up having to take him in to the dentist that afternoon (he had went to the hospital at 5:30am before the swelling had really started, hence why we didn't go to the dentist first). He just got it pulled this past Friday and is back to his bouncy silly self. He has to have dental work done in the OR on March 11th so I am not looking forward to that.

Well Monica is now 10 years old and boy did that make me feel old! She celebrated with her friends and family here at our apartment. First I took her and her cousin Haley to La Di Dah (should be called La Di Duh) for a "makeover" for her party. Man...that place is full of crap. They charge you an arm and leg for crap you can do at home for a fraction of the cost. But it was for her birthday so we did it anyways. Even Monica said it wasn't worth the money (and that's bad). So we get back and the party begins. We had a great turn out, and even ran out of cake (wasn't sure if it was because it tasted so good, or because it had a picture of the Jonas Brothers covering it LOL). She got so much stuff, including her cell phone and a lot of money. Then the girls stay the night. I had I think 9 girls here total. It was wild. Of course there was fighting and drama, but a lot of fun too. They made up dances and we took video of it (though it was so dark you can barely see). Finally they all crashed in the living room floor around 4am. It was a lot of fun.

Well that's about it for now. I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated but I will try to make it back more often from now on. Hopefully we will get things going. But if not I'm sure you'll hear about it! :) Have a great Saint Patrick's!

Been a busy busy week!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Ours was filled with parties, cookouts, family, and fireworks. We started off with a nice relaxing cookout at our friend Christy's for her stepdaughter's birthday party, in which she shares with Christian. After that we went and spent some time with my dad then off to see fireworks with the family. Christian didn't like the sound but loved watching from the car.

Then on Saturday, we headed back down to Mount Airy to celebrate Christian's birthday at Riverside park. The weather turned out pretty nice (we were so worried about rain) and the party was great. Christian had a great time and got lots of nice gifts. Waiting on pictures from the party so I will post them as soon as I get them. I only got one of the cake on mine and my MIL took the rest. Thanks Yvonne! I can't wait to see them!

Finally got to rest on Sunday and boyyyyy did I need it! I didn't want to move. Monday was little man's official birthday and he turned the big 0-5! I can't believe he's already 5 years old! How time flies by. On Tuesday we officially hit 31 weeks in the pregnancy so things are still going nice and smooth. My sugars have been relatively good, with a few highs here and there. Destinee has been on the ball moving around and kicking. You should see my belly go! It's so cute. She loves the bathtub. She goes nuts when the water is running. She's getting so big and I think she's dropped a bit. I have a lot more hip pain and my tailbone is getting sore. So we'll see! I'm hoping to make it to my baby shower at least! That plan is still in the works (and giving me a headache trying to plan). Well that's about it for now. Another busy weekend ahead it seems with another cookout, Roger's birthday, and maybe some relaxation LOL! Take care everyone!

30 week checkup!

Well today went well at the doctor's office. I packed on another whopping 5 pounds! Which I was shocked to see, but he wasn't too concerned. That puts me at a 17 pound gain so far this pregnancy, which is great compared to my others. My urine was fine that I knew of. My blood pressure was 130/80 and I've had some mild headaches and a little spotting so I have to start watching it. He was overall pleased with my sugar levels for the past two weeks. They were doing great with the diet they put me on until the past couple of days. I have had a couple increases but he said that was fine and normal. She is head down :) and I'm measuring 2 weeks over at 32 cms. I got to hear her heartbeat, which he said was great. It was galloping away! I'm getting more and more excited! I did find out though they don't allow waterbirths at Forsyth Hospital which sucks, but my doctor doesn't feel they are very sanitary anyways so no longer going to do that. I wanted a natural experience but I'm somewhat scared to without the use of water. So we'll see!

30 weeks and growing fast!

Monday go away!

Well it's been a nice and quiet weekend so far. The kids went to grandma's to stay so we had some quiet time. It was nice to relax, watch tv, and go out to dinner with friends. We went out for Chinese Friday night and Applebees on Saturday with Christy and Manuel. They will be here bright and early tomorrow so I guess I better get some early sleep tonight!

My blood glucose levels have been doing great so far since I started this new "diet" from the dietitian for my gestational diabetes. The problem is I feel like I'm constantly hungry for something. I'm eating like I should, every 2-3 hours but I feel like a bird and not eating as much as my body is longing for. I may have to see if they can do some adjusting in the long run.

That's about it for now! I'm just relaxing and chatting, enjoying the peace and silence for a little while longer. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Another day...

Ugh not feeling well today. Got up at 10:30 and low and behold my sugar was up. I ate and retesting soon. I feel so ran down and tired. Getting to the final homestretch in the pregnancy and starting to get a little more excited about it all. Now we just have to finish getting everything! I feel like we are so behind on that aspect and I'm scared it won't all be done before she gets here!

29 weeks!

We hit 29 weeks today, which puts us 11 weeks/77 days from our actual "due date." We are almost down to the final wire where we are counting by single digits. Almost here are the days of bows, diapers, late night feedings, lack of sleep, and lots of hugs, kisses, and loving.

Make sure if you haven't already, vote on the arrival of Miss Destinee! You can enter in a guess for weight, length, day born, time born, and even gender! It's a fun game and I like to see all the guesses!
