Oh noes!

Well meant to update earlier but its been a busy weekend. We found out Friday that I do in fact have gestational diabetes. I wasn't all too shocked to find this out, considering we have quite a strong family history of type 2 diabetes. I have to go see a specialist this week to talk about diet, exercise, and monitoring my glucose levels. I've been keeping check of it since yesterday and so far not too bad. It's not too hard to watch my sugar intake since I don't eat a lot of it, but still trying to watch carbs. I don't eat much as far as pastas or breads or anything, but still wanting to watch it. I'm sure going to a cookout last night didn't help, which by the way was my nephew's birthday (Happy Birthday Storm!) and the food was awesome!! I caught up with being hungry. I hate having to wait almost a week to go to the specialist. It makes me nervous anymore when I eat, if what I'm eating is ok or will it shoot my sugar levels up too high. I guess I'll be glad when Thursday hits! Then for the weekend, the kids are heading to their grandparents for the whole weekend so we'll actually have some time alone. It should be nice and quiet. Not sure if we will plan anything besides actually sleeping when we want LOL!

I can't believe I hit 29 weeks in 2 more days. This pregnancy has went by so fast like a whirl around my head. But I can say I'll be really glad when Destinee makes her appearance and I get back to my old self. I don't mean just my body. I can tell such a drastic change in me since I got pregnant this time. I find myself wanting to do different things, avoiding others, loosing interests in some things that I used to love. Now I stay focused more on my family, this pregnancy, my health, and just getting ready in general, when I'm not too tired or too cranky to focus. I've enjoyed chatting with others going through the same things as me online, such as pregnancy or Christian's ASD. But she'll be here before you know it! I'd say 11 weeks or less! Big possibility I'll go early with the GD. Hope everyone had a great weekend and your Monday is off to a great start tomorrow!
